The Ethnic Food Fair fundraiser held for the High Plains Outreach Center on Saturday was deemed a success by volunteer Executive Director Thurman Fussell.
“Really, I think it went very well," he said.
Fussell noted a large cross section of people attended the food fair held at the First Christian Church.
Though people “were mostly from Woodward, I’ve seen people who came from a distance,” he said. “The economy may be down, but the heart is there."
During the event Fussell announced that Janet Fitz would officially take over as executive director effective Feb. 15.
"I think the announcement of Janet Fitz ... received a really good response,” he said.
“With her as executive director the duck rally (fund raiser) will be bigger than in the past, and we look forward to more events that she has planned,” he said.
