THACKERVILLE - In a game that was over by halftime, the Sharon-Mutual Trojans raced past Thackerville 48-0 Friday in the Class C quarterfinals.
The Trojans, 11-1, will face top-ranked and unbeaten Tipton next week in the semifinals. Tipton defeated Wesleyan Christian 46-0 on Friday.
Leading only 8-0 after one period, the Trojans exploded for 40 points in the second quarter to end the game
Cooper Free ran for 3 touchdowns and Konner Harris 2 as the Trojans won their 10th consecutive game. Thackerville saw an 8-game winning streak end and finishes its season at 9-2.
Free had runs of 7, 32 and 18 yards while Harris scored on runs of 22 and 12 yards. Free and Cody Campbell also hooked up for a 38-yard touchdown pass.
Defensively, Sharon-Mutual forced 4 turnovers and limited Thackerville to just 69 yards in total offense. The Trojans have not allowed a point in 2 playoff games.
Sharon-Mutual rolled up 308 yards on the ground and had 346 yards of total offense.
