Tigers rout Garber

Woodward, Okla. — LAVERNE – The top-ranked Tigers got 4 touchdowns from Trevor Harris and 2 from Tucker Rolf in a 54-12 District B-1 football win over Garber on Friday.

Laverne, 7-0, scored 22 points in the first quarter and led 46-12 at halftime. There was only one touchdown in the second half.

Harris had touchdown runs of 37, 3, 18 and 2 yards and Rolf scored on runs of 3 and 16 yards. Lane Lovell had a 24-yard run for the other Tiger touchdown.

Jordan Avants had a hand in both Garber scores, a 14-yard touchdown run and a 19-yard pass to Tyler Schnaithman.

Harris finished with 179 yards on 18 carries as the Tigers had 290 yards rushing in the game. Rolf ran for 65 yards and completed 11 of 13 passes for another 187 yards.

The Tigers took advantage of 3 Garber turnovers.

Laverne will go to Merritt on Thursday.

In District A-1 action, the Hooker Bulldogs snapped a 2-game losing streak with a 48-22 win over Beaver.

Big plays fueled the Bulldogs. Their scoring plays covered 50, 92, 80, 19, 68, 67 and 44 yards.

Hooker had 492 yards in total offense.

Beaver had 255 yards rushing but nothing through the air.

Ryan Nash had 2 touchdowns for Beaver and Dylon Cain the other.

Joe Bean had a pair of touchdown runs, caught a touchdown pass and threw a touchdown pass to pace the Bulldogs, who host Mooreland on Thursday.

Also in A-1, Okeene routed OBA 54-12 as Trent Turner scored 5 touchdowns, all on the ground.

Scott Dobrinski added 2 touchdowns and threw 34 yards to Chad Bedwell for another.
