Fargo wins tournament

Fargo defeated Blair 52-44 on Saturday night to win the Best of the Southwest basketball tournament in Granite.

Dylan Baker scored 26 points and Wes Miller 20 as the Bearcats improved to 8-0.

Baker was named MVP of the tournament and Miller and Cody Gilchrist were selected to the all-tournament team.

Gilchrist had four points in the championship game and Sam Baker scored two.

In other area action, Seiing edged Waynoka 54-52 to win the Northwestern Tournanment in Alva.

Zach McDonald scored 16 points and Jesse Blumer 15 to lead Seiling. Bryne Beck had 15 for Waynoka.

In the girls championship game, South Barber, Kan. defeated Seiling 52-40.

Watonga's girls won the Mooreland Holiday Classic with a 71-28 victory over Timberlake. Watonga also won the boys championship with a 75-54 victory over Vici.

In other girls action Saturday, Vici edged Fort Supply 43-40 in the consolation final and Sharon-Mutual downed Drummond 34-28. In boys games, Mooreland nipoed Sayre 60-58 for third place, Timberlake downed Drummond 38-30 in the consolation finals and Sharon-Mutual beat Fort Supply 52-33.

At the High Plains Tournament in Balko, the Boise City Wildcats swept the titles. Boise City's girls edged Balko 54-51 and the Wildcat boys hammered Tyrone 55-29.

At Laverne, the Forgan Bulldogs won both championship. Forgan beat Laverne 51-32 in the girls game and Turpin 52-43 in the boys final.
