Sharon-Mutual closes with victory

Sharon-Mutual finished its season on a winning note Friday with a 43-30 victory over Tyrone at Jack Braud Field.

The Trojans won a back-and-forth game as they took a 21-0 lead only to see Tyrone close to within three points in the second half before opening the lead back up again.

Levi Osborn’s 2-yard run and scores of 15 and 1 yards by Weston Free gave the Trojans a 21-0 lead in the second period.

Travis Shield brought Tyrone back with touchdown runs of 56 and 49 yards as the Bobcats cut the halftime lead to 21-12.

Shield scored on a 15-yard run in the third period and Tyrone trailed just 21-18.

Free answered with a 24-yard run for the Trojans, but Shield scored on a 64 yard run and Sharon-Mutual’s lead was just 27-24.

Cody Cottom then broke a 30-yard run and Osborne’s conversion made it 35-24. Josh Nielsen scored on a 9-yard run and Cottom passed to Braden Neill as the Trojans pulled ahead 43-24.

Tyrone added a late touchdown.

In Forgan, the Waynoka Railroaders edged the Bulldogs 16-8.

A one-yard touchdown run by Bryne Beck and a conversion run by Beck broke an 8-8 tie in the third period.
