Shattuck ties win mark at 90
Shattuck tied Morrison’s state record of 90 consecutive victories by defeating Sharon-Mutual 46-32 on Friday.
The Indians will go for the record next Friday as they host Goodwell. It will also be Senior Night for Shattuck.
Against the Trojans, Shattuck built a 40-0 lead. All of Sharon-Mutual’s points came in the second half.
Brent Starbuck scored three touchdowns and Aaron McCandless two in Shattuck’s early barrage - which included 32 points in the first period alone.
Weston Free had three touchdowns for Sharon-Mutual and Timmy Lieswald and Levi Osborn both scored.
Corey Floyd had the other touchdown for Shattuck.
Sharon-Mutual fell to 3-5 for the season.
Forgan kept pace with Boise City in the battle for second place behind Shattuck in District C-1.
The Bulldogs used a 20-point second period to break open a close game and defeat the Buffalo Bison 40-12.
Anthony Bryer had both touchdowns for the Bison, the second a 67-yard run to even the game at 12-12 in the second period.
Forgan scored twice more in the second quarter to go up 26-12 at halftime, then the Bulldogs added two more touchdowns after intermission.
Forgan and Boise City are both 5-1 in the district and the play in week 10.
Laverne lost 48-14 to No. 1-ranked Garber. Th Wolverines scored the game’s first 34 points to win handily.
Beaver scored a touchdown and two-point conversion with 3:09 left to play and edged District A-1 and county rival Turpin, 8-7.
Also in A-1, Texhoma beat Mooreland, 47-20.
