Woodward, Okla. — Woodward County Game Warden Mark Reichenberger will be hosting a free hunter safety course at High Plains Technology Center on Aug. 28 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the auditorium.

Harper County Game Warden David Rempe will be assisting Reichenberger in teaching the class.

According to Reichenberger, over a 100 people have attended the safety course in past years.

“I think this is a great opportunity to meet upcoming hunters and get them familiar with the hunting laws,” he said.

Reichenberger said if hunters are unable to attend this meeting there will be meetings throughout Oklahoma. Those dates are listed in The Hunting Guide which is available at Wal-Mart.

The safety course will be open to all ages. However, parents of children under 10 will need to call Reichenberger to make arrangements in advance, because the parent will need to accompany their young child in the class.

At the end of the class, students will take a 50-question test.  In order to pass, which is required to obtain a hunting license, students cannot miss more than 15 questions, Reichenberger said.  For more information Reichenberger can be reached at (580) 334-0353.
