Trojans rout Balko

Woodward, Okla. — Sharon-Mutual jumped on Balko early and often on the way to a 34-6 District C-1 victory at Mutual on Friday.

Cooper Free tossed 3 touchdown passes and ran for another as the Trojans won their district opener and raised their overall record to 1-2. Balko lost its third consecutive game.

Sharon-Mutual will host Buffalo for homecoming next week.

Free hit Braden Neill for a 9-yard touchdown pass to open the scoring, then connected with Weston Free on the conversion. Free then found Dustin Baker for a 38-yard touchdown and ran in the conversion for a 16-0 first-period lead.

In the second quarter, Free broke off a 65-yard touchdown run, then Weston Free returned an interception 50 yards for a score and 28-0 halftime lead.

Cooper Free’s 7-yard pass to Cody Campbell put Sharon-Mutual up 34-0. Ben Clubb had the lone Balko score on a 49-yard run in the 4th period.

The Trojans outgained Balko 342 yards to 148.
