Boomers beat Elk City, Forgan

Woodward, Okla. — The Boomers snapped a 2-game losing skid in a big way on Tuesday.

Woodward scored 10 runs in the third inning to rout Elk City 12-0 at the WHS field.

It was the second run-rule victory by the Boomers over the Elkettes in the last week.

Kayli Castor homered in the big third inning that saw 15 Boomer hitters come to the plate.

Castor also had a bases-loaded walk in the inning.

Haylee Bates had 2 two hits and scored twice. Danielle Ramirez drilled a 2-run double and Whitley Williamson scored two runs as well. Isabella Martin hit a triple and single, scored 1 run and drove in another.

The Boomers other 2 runs came in the first inning as Bates tripled home Courtney Cook, then scored on a grounder by Williamson.

Elk City’s only real threat came in the top of the first inning with two hits, but the Elkettes didn’t advance anyone beyond second base.

Elk City dropped a second game Tuesday night to Forgan, 10-4.

In the third game of the evening, the Boomers defeated Forgan 8-0 in 5 innings.

Ramirez had a 2-run triple to help break the game open in the third inning.

Woodward, 14-4, travels to face Guymon on Thursday.

Woodward’s JV team dropped a pair of games in Okeene on Tuesday, losing 8-4 to Alva and 6-4 to Okeene.

In an area game from Monday night, Sharon-Mutual defeated Fargo-Fort Supply 10-3.
