Woodward, Okla. — ALVA – The Boomers dropped a pair of basketball games to the Goldbugs on Tuesday.
In the girls game, Alva pulled away in the second half to win 53-30. Alva led by just 5 points at halftime.
Mercedeez Bell led the Boomers with 14 points.
Woodward dropped its fourth straight game and is 2-12 overall.
In the boys game, the Boomers rallied late but came up short in a 48-45 setback.
A pair of missed free throws by Alva gave the Boomers a chance to win in the final seconds, but the potential game-winning attempt was off target and Alva added a pair of late free throws for the 3-point final margin.
Kaleb Roach led the Boomers with 17 points.
Woodward will try and snap a 3-game losing streak Thursday in the Newcastle Tournament.
