Woodward, Okla. — The Traveler Minors pounded out 15 hits in a 13-1 win over the Enid Rookies on Wednesday to kick off the first Oklahoma Town League State Tournament at the new Fuller Park.
Woodward, 47-27, scored in 6 of the 7 innings and had things under control after a 6-run second frame.
Zach Friesen gave up 5 hits and struck out 4 for the pitching win.
Tyler Mannering had 3 hits and drove in 3 runs to pace the offense. Connor Ross also scofred 3 runs and Brandon Corr had a 2-run double. Clayton Stoup hit a pair of doubles.
The Minors also took advantage of 5 Enid errors.
Woodward plays the Southwest Shockers today at 4 p.m.
