The Woodward Travelers beat Edmond Memorial twice on Tuesday night to extend their winning streak to six games.
Woodward, 25-15, will play Edmond Santa Fe today at 3 p.m. and Edmond Memorial at 5 p.m., then travel to Pueblo, Colo. for a tournament beginning on Friday,
Tyler Overton pitched six strong innings and Austin Beisel the seventh in an 8-5 win over Edmond Memorial in game one.
Miguel Salcido had three hits and drove in four runs to pace the offense. Matt McDonald drove in a pair of runs and Kevin Hajny and Ryne Dunlavy had two hits each.
In the second game, the Travelers rolled 11-3 behind the five-hit pitching of Levi Lewis, who struck out nine over seven innings.
Dylan Weber delivered three hits and drove in a pair of runs and Overton also had three hits. Trevor Long had two hits, including a triple, and three RBI and Hajny and McDonald drove in two runs each.
On Wednesday, the Travelers downed Dodge City 8-4 and 17-1 in Dodge City.
Chance Beck was the winning pitcher in the first game with Jonathan Johnson and Beisel throwing in relief.
Ryan Roulet had a three-run homer and Dunlavy and McDonald each drove in two runs.
Game two went just four innings as the Travelers bombarded the Rangers and Jake Tuck tossed a no-hitter, striking out six.
Long drove in three runs and Salcido had a homer and two RBI. Beisel hit a grand slam homer. Shane Martin doubled and drove in three runs and McDonald hit a solo homer.
In Pueblo, the Travelers will play Farmington, N. M. on Friday and host Pueblo and a team from Puerto Rico on Saturday. The championship round is on Sunday,
Woodward is scheduled to host the SW Shockers and Edmond Travelers on June 30.
