Softball splits with Eagles
Mikala Wynn’s sacrifice fly scored Alyssa Juttner with the winning run as the Boomers beat Weatherford 4-3 in nine innings to split a doubleheader on Monday.
Danielle Ramirez opened the ninth with a double and Juttner came in as a pinch-runner. With one out, Taitum Hoffman reached by an error and Whitley Williamson was walked intentionally to load the bases. Wynn then delivered the fly ball to left-center and Juttner easily beat the throw home.
The win gave the Boomers a split of the doubleheader.
Weatherford won the opener 12-1 on the strength of a nine-run third inning.
The Boomers host Sharon-Mutual today in a 4:30 p.m. doubleheader.
