Tigers bury Waukomis

Woodward, Okla. — Top-ranked Laverne scored 40 points in the first period and cruised to a 46-0 District B-1 win over Waukomis on Friday.

Laverne is 6-0 on the season and 5-0 in the district, tied with Pond Creek-Hunter for first place.

Tucker Rolf threw a pair of touchdown passes and Tanner Allen ran for 2 scores for Laverne. Gage Murphy had both touchdown receptions and Dalton Birch and Trevor Harris added scores.

Laverne had 364 yards in total offense in just 2 quarters.

The Tigers host Garber on Friday and the Wolverines will be coming off a 42-16 loss to Pond Creek-Hunter.

Forgan stayed unbeaten in District C-1 with a 56-6 win over Boise City on Friday.

The Bulldogs, currently tied with Balko for the league lead, got 3 touchdowns from Trevin Lopez and had little trouble with the Wildcats.

In addition to 283 yards in total offense, the Bulldogs scored twice with their defense.

Forgan hosts Waynoka next before going on the road for big games against Balko and Buffalo.

In Class A, Fairview stayed unbeaten with a 71-18 rout of the Hooker Bulldogs.

The Yellowjackets put up 50 points in the first half alone.

Grant Nightengale threw 3 touchdown passes and ran for 2 more to pace Fairview.

The Yellowjackets visit once-beaten Mooreland this week.

Texhoma also stayed unbeaten, racing past OBA 54-6 as Bryson Beattie scored 5 touchdowns. Texhoma’s next game is against Turpin.

    OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — Down by one in the final minute, the Oklahoma City's Derek Fisher turned a tough situation for the Thunder into the worst-case scenario for the Grizzlies.

    Fisher poked the ball away from Memphis' Mike Conley, springing three-time NBA scoring champion Kevin Durant into the open court with a chance to put the Thunder on top.
