Woodward, Okla. — By Sheila Gay
What will inspire you to actually get out there and make it happen?
To become a healthier, happier you?
I keep several phrases, pictures, funny comic strips, and people around me to inspire me and keep me motivated. The best motivation of all is yourself. On my bulletin board in my office is the phrase, "If you're not going to commit then you are not going to get results." How true that statement is! Another favorite of mine is a comic strip of a husband and wife jogging together (which reminds me of my husband and I, hehe) stating, "We'll just go another pound and a half worth." Find what inspires you, whether that is a person, saying, scripture, or picture of you at your best, and use it as your motivation to get out there and make your life happen! I've listed some of my favorite phrases below that I love:
1. Suck it UP and someday you won't have to suck it IN!
2. If you have time to facebook, you have time to exercise.
3. Your desire to change must be greater than your desire to stay the same.
4. No matter how slow you go, you are still lapping everybody on the couch. (This one really helps me feel better!)
5. Sustainable weight loss is a complete lifestyle change, not a 12 week eating plan.
6. I'm not telling you it's going to be easy, I'm telling you it's going to be worth it.
7. Exercising should be about rewarding the body with endorphins and strength not about punishing your body for what you've eaten. (OOPS!!!)
8. It's not that some people have willpower and some don't. It's that some people are READY to change and others are NOT.
9. Exercise in the morning, BEFORE your brain figures out what you're doing!!
10. The voice in your head that says that you can't do this, IS A LIAR!
11. You are capable of doing and becoming more than you realize.
12. You are whoever you want to be, you just have to decide to be it.
