Woodward, Okla. — Melinda D. Taylor, 52 year old Woodward resident, died Sunday, February 3, 2013 at her home in Woodward.  Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 6, 2013 at the Elmwood Cemetery with Reverend Marvin Hudson officiating.  Burial will follow with the Billings Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

 

Melinda Dawn (Smith) Taylor was born on February 6, 1960 in Mooreland, Oklahoma to Pleasant Albert “P.A.” and Sandra Jo (Horn) Smith.  She was reared in Guymon and Woodward and graduated from Woodward High School in 1979.  After high school she attended the High Plains Vo Tech.  She was united in marriage to Jack E. Taylor on November 4, 1989 at the Lincoln Avenue Baptist Church in Woodward, Oklahoma.  They made their home in Woodward and have lived here since that time.

 

Melinda loved watching her children grow up.  She had a special bond with Matthew and loved spending time with him.

 

She is survived by her husband Jack E. Taylor of the home; two sons, Brian Lee VanOverberg and wife Jenny of Woodward, Matthew Lee Taylor of the home; her mother, Sandra Smith of Woodward; one brother Michael David Smith and wife Linda of Ponca City; her uncle, David M. Horn and wife Mildred of Oklahoma City; one grandson, Zayne Lee VanOverberg; cousins, other relatives and many friends.

 

She was preceded in death by her father Albert Smith and one infant son Scott Allen Taylor.

Jan and his wife of 56 years have enjoyed the last 20 years of semi-retirement in Hot Springs Village AR. Many great memories have been created for family and friends in this beautiful golfing community.

As a child Lana lived on the farm near Webb, Oklahoma and attended Taloga High School graduating with the class of 1983.

    Lloyd Lorn Elston went to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, May 11, 2013. He was born September 24, 1919 to John and Sarah Elizabeth (Taylor) Elston west of Laverne, Oklahoma in Beaver County. He was the 12th child out of 13 and the youngest boy in the family.

    Jo Ann Keltch, 68 year old Sharon resident, died Wednesday, May 8, 2013 in the Woodward Regional Hospital.   Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, May 11, 2013 in the South Persimmon Baptist Church with the Reverend Jay Custar and the Reverend Eddie White officiating.  Burial will follow in the South Persimmon Cemetery under the direction of the Billings Funeral Home.  Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday,  May 10, 2013 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
