Lee Don Goodwin

Woodward, Okla. — Lee Don Goodwin, 72 year old Woodward resident, died Sunday, December 23, 2012 in the Newman Memorial Hospital in Shattuck.  Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, December 27, 2012 at the Lincoln Avenue Baptist Church, Lincoln Campus with Reverend Bill Tindell officiating.  Burial will follow in the Elmwood Cemetery with the United States Navy providing Military Graveside rites.  Arrangements are under the direction of the Billings Funeral Home.

 

Lee Don Goodwin was born on December 9, 1940 in Great Bend, Kansas to Roy Marvin and Ruby Marie (Tyson) Goodwin.  Don was reared in Ft. Supply and graduated from Ft. Supply High School in 1959.  He was united in marriage to Beulah Faye Boyle on November 27, 1960 in Woodward, Oklahoma.  They were blessed with three sons, Marvin, Robert and Charles.  Don was inducted into the United States Navy in 1960 and they lived in San Diego, California during his time in the Navy.  Don spent over two years overseas before being honorably discharged in 1964 after proudly serving his country. After his discharge, he and Beulah and Marvin moved back to Ft. Supply and Don went to work for Deke Gaston at his gas station.  In 1965 they moved to Oklahoma City where Don went to work for Caterpillar.  In 1977, the family moved to Woodward and Don continued working for Caterpillar until his retirement in 2000.   They have continued living here since that time.

 

Don was a member of the Lincoln Avenue Baptist Church.  He enjoyed fishing, camping, motorcycling, Thunder basketball and all OU sports.  He most of all loved being with his family, especially boating, camping and fishing with his children and grandchildren whom he loved very much.  He was also a member of the Faith Riders Ministry at the Lincoln Avenue Baptist Church.

 

He is survived by his wife Beulah Goodwin of the home; three sons, Marvin Goodwin and wife Susan of Woodward, Robert Goodwin and wife Marla of Woodward, Charles Goodwin and wife Sherry of Woodward; eight grandchildren, Alisha Boulware and Brandon, Amy Goodwin, Brogan Goodwin, Chandler Goodwin, Trevor Goodwin, Briley Goodwin, Shelly Pummel, and Sheradon Pummel; two great-grandchildren, Ryan and Kash Boulware; other relatives and many good friends.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents.

 

Memorial contributions may be made to the Lincoln Avenue Baptist Church, Building Fund or the Team Kids Ministry at the church with the funeral home accepting the contributions.

As a child Lana lived on the farm near Webb, Oklahoma and attended Taloga High School graduating with the class of 1983.

    Lloyd Lorn Elston went to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, May 11, 2013. He was born September 24, 1919 to John and Sarah Elizabeth (Taylor) Elston west of Laverne, Oklahoma in Beaver County. He was the 12th child out of 13 and the youngest boy in the family.

    Jo Ann Keltch, 68 year old Sharon resident, died Wednesday, May 8, 2013 in the Woodward Regional Hospital.   Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, May 11, 2013 in the South Persimmon Baptist Church with the Reverend Jay Custar and the Reverend Eddie White officiating.  Burial will follow in the South Persimmon Cemetery under the direction of the Billings Funeral Home.  Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday,  May 10, 2013 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm.

    LaRoy “Chuck” Vernon Bailey, 74 year old rural Fargo resident, was born March 26, 1939 at Shattuck, Oklahoma, to Loys and Margretha (Toellner) Bailey. He attended school at Fargo, graduating with the “Class of 1959”. After graduating High School he went to mechanics school at Okmulgee, Oklahoma where he completed the certification requirements to be an auto mechanic.

    Mary Ann Hunt Berry was born in Camargo, OK on Aug. 24, 1933 to Anna Mildred Blair Hunt and Herman Edward Hunt.  She was one of ten children.  She departed this life on April 30, 2013.   She attended Camargo Schools, and graduated with the class of 1951.  She continued her education at Southwestern State College in Weatherford, where she completed her bachelor's degree in Pharmacy.

  • R. A. Lotspeich R.A. Lotspeich

      R.A. Lotspeich, 81 year old Rosston, Oklahoma, farmer and rancher passed away Friday, May 3, 2013.  The only son of Kenney and Osie Lotspeich, R.A. was born March 24, 1932, graduated Rosston High School 1949, and Oklahoma A & M in 1954 with a degree in agriculture.  During his college career, he was a member of Sigma Chi fraternity and the college rodeo team, excelling in bull riding.  Having been an ROTC cadet at Oklahoma A & M, R.A. went on to serve as a 1st Lieutenant in the U. S. Army for two years and was honorably discharged in 1955.
