Woodward, Okla. — Gwen Vloedman, 98 year old former resident, died Monday, December 3, 2012 in Dallas, Texas.  Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, December 8, 2012 in the Billings Funeral Home Chapel with her grandson, Todd Taylor and son, Jack Vloedman officiating.  The family will greet friends at the funeral home from 9:00 a.m. until service time on Saturday.  A private burial will be held in the Elmwood Cemetery.

 

Gwendolyn Aileen (Chase) Vloedman was born on March 8, 1914 at Camp Supply, Oklahoma to Alson J. Streeter and Clauda May (Jessee) Chase.  She attended schools in Woodward, Capron, and May and graduated from May High School in 1931.  She attended and graduated from Woodward Junior College.  Gwen was united in marriage to Andrew Jacob Vloedman on August 26, 1934.  They lived in Kansas City, Missouri, Roswell, New Mexico and then they moved to Woodward.  She and her husband owned and operated Andy’s Western Auto from 1947 to 1980 when they retired.

 

She was a member of the Eastern Star and the First Christian Church.  She designed and created many, many artistic pieces.  She and her husband loved traveling and took many journeys!

 

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Andy on December 3, 2000, sister, Gwenivere Tirk, brothers, Jay Dee Chase, Jay O. Chase and grandson Richard Drew Taylor.

 

She is survived by her son, Jack (Dagmar), daughter Joan, six grandchildren, Tami Jeen Taylor, Todd Timothy Taylor and wife Michelle, Leslie Dawn Taylor Redwine and husband Alan, Andrew Von Vloedman, Kristi Vloedman and Kerrie Diane Vloedman; seven great-grandchildren, Alexandra Brianne Taylor, Taylor Chance Redwine, Dominic Waight Taylor, Francesca Waight Taylor, and Blaise Waight Taylor, Nathan Von Vloedman, and Teah Vloedman; other relatives and friends.

 

Memorial contributions may be made to the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation with the funeral home accepting the contributions.

    Jan R. Brown passed from this earthly life to his eternal home with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on May 20th, after a short illness. He was born on June 21, 1939 in El Reno OK. Jan and his wife of 56 years have enjoyed the last 20 years of semi-retirement in Hot Springs Village AR. Many great memories have been created for family and friends in this beautiful golfing community.

As a child Lana lived on the farm near Webb, Oklahoma and attended Taloga High School graduating with the class of 1983.

    Lloyd Lorn Elston went to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, May 11, 2013. He was born September 24, 1919 to John and Sarah Elizabeth (Taylor) Elston west of Laverne, Oklahoma in Beaver County. He was the 12th child out of 13 and the youngest boy in the family.
