Woodward, Okla. — Michael Ross Prather, 86, of Guymon passed away Monday, December 3, 2012 at the Memorial Hospital of Texas County.

The son of Cecil Albert and Nellie Margaret (Reiss) Prather, he was born September 29, 1926 in Luray, Kansas.  Mike graduated from Holyrood, Kansas High School with the class of 1945.  He served as a corporal in the US Army during World War II.

Mike and Othilia “Tillie” Bender were united in marriage on February 22, 1948 at the Bender Hill Lutheran Church in Russell County, Kansas.

Mike worked in the oil field industry which moved the family from Great Bend, Kansas to Laverne and Keyes, Oklahoma before moving to Guymon in 1979.  He was a member of VFW Post #6240 in Russell, Kansas and the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Guymon.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, William Alfred Prather; sister, Doris Bryant and daughter, Mary McLaughlin.

Survivors include his loving wife of nearly 65 years, Tillie Prather; two daughters:  Judy Prather of Guymon and Barbara and William Walton of Perry, Oklahoma; son-in-law, Jerry McLaughlin of Woodward and four grandchildren: Ross Andrew and wife, Kasie McLaughlin of Edmond, Oklahoma, Erin Margaret McLaughlin of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Dorothy Walton and Kurt Walton both of Perry, Oklahoma.

Funeral services will be Saturday, December 8th at 2:00 p.m. at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Guymon with Rev. Mark Wescoatt officiating.  Interment will follow in the Elmhurst Cemetery. 

The family suggests that memorials be made to the Guymon Chapter of Circle of Friends.  Memorials will be accepted at the Bunch – Roberts Funeral Home, PO Box 1112, Guymon, OK 73942.

    Jan R. Brown passed from this earthly life to his eternal home with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on May 20th, after a short illness. He was born on June 21, 1939 in El Reno OK. Jan and his wife of 56 years have enjoyed the last 20 years of semi-retirement in Hot Springs Village AR. Many great memories have been created for family and friends in this beautiful golfing community.

    Lloyd Lorn Elston went to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, May 11, 2013. He was born September 24, 1919 to John and Sarah Elizabeth (Taylor) Elston west of Laverne, Oklahoma in Beaver County. He was the 12th child out of 13 and the youngest boy in the family.

    Jo Ann Keltch, 68 year old Sharon resident, died Wednesday, May 8, 2013 in the Woodward Regional Hospital.   Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, May 11, 2013 in the South Persimmon Baptist Church with the Reverend Jay Custar and the Reverend Eddie White officiating.  Burial will follow in the South Persimmon Cemetery under the direction of the Billings Funeral Home.  Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday,  May 10, 2013 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
