Woodward, Okla. —
LouAnn Schickedanz, 61 year old Woodward resident died Wednesday September 1, 2010 in Thornton, Colorado. Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. on Monday September 6, 2010 in the Billings Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Don Whitman officiating. Interment will follow at 3:00 pm in the Hinton Cemetery in Hinton, Oklahoma with the Billings Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
LouAnn (Volenstine) Schickdanz was born on January 13, 1949 in Andrews, Texas to O. E. and Wilma Louise (Jaques) Volenstine. When she was young, LouAnn’s father worked in the oilfield and the family moved often. LouAnn graduated from Ardmore High School in 1968. She was united in marriage to Bobby L. Hartsell and to union one daughter was born, Christina. LouAnn later married Doug Schickedanz and to this union one daughter was born, Sara. LouAnn worked as a secretary for Waggoner Electric before going to work at Mutual of Omaha as an Insurance Biller. Most recently LouAnn had obtained her EMT certification and worked at the Woodward County Emergency Medical Service as an office clerk and a first responder.
She was a member of St. Peters Catholic Church. LouAnn was also a long time member of the Zeta Delta Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi where she had held every office. She was also a member of the Moose Lodge. LouAnn enjoyed traveling with her friends and she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by her two daughters, Christina Brown of Vici, Sara White and husband Tom of Thornton, Colorado; grandchildren, Morganne Brown of Jonesborough, Arkansas, Kaitlyn Brown of Vici, Austin Brown of Vici, Braxtin White, Payton White, Jackson White, Preston White all of Thornton, Colorado; two brothers, Larry Volenstine and wife Nancy of Flagstaff, Arizona, Richard Volenstine and wife Karla of Ardmore; her aunts, Elaine Isenbart of Woodward, Winnie Jaques of Duncan; other relatives and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Woodward Ambulance Base for special equipment with the funeral home accepting the contributions.
