Woodward, Okla. — LaNita D. (Ames) Bridgeman, 74, departed on February 14, 2012 (Valentine’s Day). She was born October 26, 1937 in Mooreland, Oklahoma.
LaNita was married in a Baptist parsonage in Alva, OK, on April 4, 1958 (Good Friday that year) to Max E. Bridgeman. Through the 53 years together, Max and LaNita were able to travel to all 50 states. 11 of those memorable years, they were “snow birders” in Laughlin and Mesquite, Nevada and Bullhead City, AZ as they enjoyed playing many games of pinochle.
The games would continue in Pueblo with the SRDA members. LaNita loved her family and would show that by joking with her many friends and family. She showed her creativity through her beautiful crocheting and knitting projects.
LaNita loved her cabin and home at Rye with the wild life, hummingbirds, flowers, trees and nature all around.
LaNita was proceeded in death by her parents, Frank and Bernice Ames, Mooreland, OK; sister, Eileen Moynihan, Woodward, OK; brother, Loren Ames, Grand Rapids, MI.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Max E. Bridgeman; children, Lex Bridgeman, Alamosa, CO, Tod (Kelly) Bridgeman, Aurora, CO; grandchildren, Derek and Hunter Bridgeman, Pueblo West, CO; siblings, J. Alan “Bud” (Barbara) Ames, Mooreland, OK, Byron (Deanna) Ames, Mooreland, OK, Doug (Kathleen) Ames, Gage, OK, sister-in-laws, Viva Ames, Grand Rapid, MI, and Rayna Peronne, Deer Lodge, MT; brother-in-law, Lyle Moyniham, Irvin, TX.; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. At LaNitas request, there will not be a service.
Inurnment will take place at Imperial Memorial Gardens as her final resting place will overlook the majestic Pikes Peak.
