Claude Ray Kaufman

Woodward, Okla. — Claude Ray Kaufman, 62, of Woodward, OK, passed away February 4, 2013 in OKC.

He was born in Lawton, OK to Clarence Raymond Kaufman and Alta Loree Green Kaufman on January 16, 1951. Claude proudly served in the United States Navy. He worked in the oil field and then opened his business Charg-N-Start in Woodward, OK. Claude loved his work and he helped the whole community.

Claude is survived by his first daughter, Tisha Kaufman Bremner and husband Kendall, granddaughter Breanne Kaufman, great granddaughter Lyla Millet and first wife Sharon Michaud, all of Maine. Daughters, Kyla Kaufman of OKC, Casey Kaufman Nester and husband David, grandsons William Cole Nester, Wade Garrett Nester and Gabriel Raye Nester of Yukon, OK, and second wife Audrey Caruthers Kaufman of OKC. Sisters, Norma Kennedy Bennett of Lawton, OK, Louise Winterhalter of Houston, TX, Sandra Williams and husband Fred of Las Vegas. Brothers, Loyd Kaufman and wife Bonita of Enid, OK, Calvin Kaufman and wife Victoria Kaufman of Anderson, SC, and numerous nieces, nephews, friends and family.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Dorse Abe Green and Susie Hart Green, paternal grandparents Walter Burch Kaufman and Texanna Agnes McCurry Kaufman, his parents and brother, Raymond Floyd Kaufman.

A Memorial Service to celebrate his life is scheduled for 10:00 A.M. Saturday, March 2, 2013 at St. John’s Episcopal Church – Parish Hall (923 Texas Street, Woodward, OK 73801). The family will bury Claude’s cremains at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Lawton, OK.

Many great memories have been created for family and friends in this beautiful golfing community.

    Olen Thomas 69, year old Woodward resident died Friday, May 17, 2013 in Oklahoma City.  Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Thursday May 23, 2013 in the First Baptist Church with Reverend Guy McGraw officiating.  Interment will follow in Elmwood Cemetery with the Billings Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

    Lloyd Lorn Elston went to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, May 11, 2013. He was born September 24, 1919 to John and Sarah Elizabeth (Taylor) Elston west of Laverne, Oklahoma in Beaver County. He was the 12th child out of 13 and the youngest boy in the family.

    Jo Ann Keltch, 68 year old Sharon resident, died Wednesday, May 8, 2013 in the Woodward Regional Hospital.   Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, May 11, 2013 in the South Persimmon Baptist Church with the Reverend Jay Custar and the Reverend Eddie White officiating.  Burial will follow in the South Persimmon Cemetery under the direction of the Billings Funeral Home.  Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday,  May 10, 2013 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
