Elinor Atchison

Woodward, Okla. — Elinor Atchison 77 year old Mooreland resident died Wednesday January 9, 2013 in Mooreland.  Memorial services will be held at 2:00 pm Monday, January 14, 2013 in the Mooreland First United Methodist Church with Reverend Marvin Hudson officiating.  A private family interment will take place at a later date with the Billings Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

 

Pauline Elinor (Tompkins) Atchison was born on December 19, 1935 to Edward Madison and Elinor Pauline (Barnes) Tompkins.  Elinor was raised in the Oklahoma City area where she attended school and graduated from Capital Hill High School.  Elinor  received her Masters in Law Enforcement from Northwestern Oklahoma State University in Alva.  Elinor was blessed with three children Tony, Rick and Donna.  She worked as a dispatcher for the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, and as a secretary for the Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics.  She went to work for General Motors as a Security Guard retiring in 1997 with 14 years  of service.

 

In 1998, Elinor moved to Mooreland to be close to her family.  She spent her time watching her grandchildren’s activities, volunteering at the Woodward Regional Hospital, spending time at the Mooreland Senior Citizens Center, and camping with her Tumbleweeds camping group  and family.

 

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Mooreland.

 

Elinor is survived by her children, Donna Abbott and husband Alan of Mooreland; Tony Pickens of Mooreland; Rick Sepeda and wife Tammy Pickens of Bethany; grandchildren, Rechelle Pickens, Mitchell Sepeda, David Smalley, Shellie Pickens, Austin, Newly, and Shelby Abbott, four great-grandchildren, Cody, and Abby Smalley; Zachary and Nicholas Pickens; sister, Beverly Williams of Oklahoma City;  brothers, Eddie Tompkins and wife Arda; Mike Tompkins and wife Karen all of Oklahoma City; daughter -in-law, Cheryl Pickens of Allen, Texas;  several other family members and friends.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Donna Kay Tompkins,  grandson Michael Austin Pickens, and brother-in-law Dick Williams.

 

Memorial contributions may be made to the Woodward Regional Hospital Auxiliary with the funeral home accepting the contributions.

    WILLIS E. "BUD" ROBINSON, 81 year old Woodward resident, died Wednesday, May 15, 2013 at his home in Woodward. Graveside funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, May 17, 2013 at the Elmwood Cemetery. Burial will follow with the Billings Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

    Patricia Carol (Bell) Geyer Age:  66 was born 02/09/1947 in Daviess County Hospital, Owensboro Kentucky. She died in her home while on hospice care on May 14th, 2013 at 4:45pm.

    Lana Jean Ramsey, 46 year old Vici resident, passed from this life Thursday, May 9, 2013. Lana was born on October 20, 1966 in Alva, Oklahoma to Lance and Mona Jean Stephenson. As a child Lana lived on the farm near Webb, Oklahoma and attended Taloga High School graduating with the class of 1983.

    Lloyd Lorn Elston went to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, May 11, 2013. He was born September 24, 1919 to John and Sarah Elizabeth (Taylor) Elston west of Laverne, Oklahoma in Beaver County. He was the 12th child out of 13 and the youngest boy in the family.

    Jo Ann Keltch, 68 year old Sharon resident, died Wednesday, May 8, 2013 in the Woodward Regional Hospital.   Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, May 11, 2013 in the South Persimmon Baptist Church with the Reverend Jay Custar and the Reverend Eddie White officiating.  Burial will follow in the South Persimmon Cemetery under the direction of the Billings Funeral Home.  Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday,  May 10, 2013 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, May 10, 2013 in the Billings Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Shane Rackley officiating. Interment will follow in the Elmwood Cemetery in Woodward.

    LaRoy “Chuck” Vernon Bailey, 74 year old rural Fargo resident, was born March 26, 1939 at Shattuck, Oklahoma, to Loys and Margretha (Toellner) Bailey. He attended school at Fargo, graduating with the “Class of 1959”. After graduating High School he went to mechanics school at Okmulgee, Oklahoma where he completed the certification requirements to be an auto mechanic.

    Mary Ann Hunt Berry was born in Camargo, OK on Aug. 24, 1933 to Anna Mildred Blair Hunt and Herman Edward Hunt.  She was one of ten children.  She departed this life on April 30, 2013.   She attended Camargo Schools, and graduated with the class of 1951.  She continued her education at Southwestern State College in Weatherford, where she completed her bachelor's degree in Pharmacy.
