Woodward, Okla. — Carlos Orland Allen, 82, of Laverne, Oklahoma passed away on August 1, 2012. He was born on December 30, 1929 in Montrose, Missouri to William Henry and Delta Irene (Evans) Allen.
Carlos loved being a mentor to boys, some troubled; teaching them mechanics and other trades, but mostly enforcing loyalty and honor in them. He loved music and at one time was the lead guitar player in his own band. He enjoyed playing in the local communities at the Senior Citizen Centers. He was a good neighbor and a warm and loving friend.
Of the many things that Carlos did, he did some custom hay cutting and was a retired tool pusher from the oil field.
Carlos was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Mary Boyce; two brothers-in-law, Charles Boyce and Charles Coakley; and a grandson, Brian Smith.
He is survived by his wife, Marie of the home; his sons, Larry (Jo) Allen of Newnan, GA, Carlos (Vickie) Allen, Jr of Florence, MS, and Michael (Nellie) of Kansas City, KS; his daughters, Judy (Stephen) Smith of Morris Plains, NJ and Joyce (David) Coats of Satanta, KS; step-children, Peggy Love and Wilbur Love of Laverne, OK; his grandchildren, Terry, Ty, Lisa, Matthew, David, Kelly, Joe, Chassy, Misty and Roberta; step-grandchildren, Tasha, Tracy, Travis, and Tyler; great-grandchildren, Taylor, Landen, Brianne, Jacob, Katelyn, Javon, Jaden, Michael, Dawn Marie, Jordan, Jada, and Damien; a brother James (Irene) Allen of Peculiar, MO; a sister Shirley Coakley of Harrisonville, MO; nieces, nephews, and a host of friends and family who will miss him greatly.
Services were held Saturday August 4, 2012 at 10:00 AM at the First Baptist Church in Laverne. Interment was held at the Rose Hill Cemetery north of Laverne. Arrangements were entrusted to the Myatt-Laverne Funeral Home. Online condolences may be offered at www.schillingfhg.com
