Woodward, Okla. —

Bill Covalt, 67 year old Woodward resident, died Saturday, September 29, 2012 at his home in Woodward.   Graveside funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Wednesday, October 3, 2012 at the Elmwood Cemetery with Reverend Ed Dowty officiating.  Interment will follow with the Billings Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. 

William Daniel Covalt Sr. was born April 29, 1945 in Woodward, Oklahoma.  He was the son of Emil Sig and Opal Lucinda (Chance) Covalt.  He spent most of his early years in the Woodward and Sharon areas, graduating from Sharon High School with the class of 1964.  In 1964, he was united in marriage to  Linda Ellen Baird.  They made Woodward their home after their marriage. They moved to the family farm west of Sharon in 1981 for a short time. They moved back to Woodward shortly after their daughter LaDon’s accident.  Bill worked in the oilfield most of his life.  He retired from there to help care for LaDon.

Bill enjoyed fishing, bowling and playing all card games, especially pitch.  Bill spent many hours at the Moose Lodge.  He also found enjoyment in life raising a his cattle.

Bill is survived by one son William Covalt Jr. and wife Melba ; two daughters Lissa Holley and husband Ron, LaDon Covalt; two brothers Delbert Covalt and wife Waynona all of Woodward, Donnie Covalt and wife Karen of Oklahoma City; one brother- in- law Earl Hunt Sr.; three grandchildren, Jason Baker and wife Beth, Bryan Baker and Halley Johnson, Ronald Holley Jr.; four great-grandchildren Sammy, Bastion and Jackson Baker and Timber Baker; other relatives and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Linda Ellen on August 20, 2007, and one sister, Arletta Hunt.

    Lloyd Lorn Elston went to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, May 11, 2013. He was born September 24, 1919 to John and Sarah Elizabeth (Taylor) Elston west of Laverne, Oklahoma in Beaver County. He was the 12th child out of 13 and the youngest boy in the family.

    Jo Ann Keltch, 68 year old Sharon resident, died Wednesday, May 8, 2013 in the Woodward Regional Hospital.   Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, May 11, 2013 in the South Persimmon Baptist Church with the Reverend Jay Custar and the Reverend Eddie White officiating.  Burial will follow in the South Persimmon Cemetery under the direction of the Billings Funeral Home.  Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday,  May 10, 2013 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm.

    LaRoy “Chuck” Vernon Bailey, 74 year old rural Fargo resident, was born March 26, 1939 at Shattuck, Oklahoma, to Loys and Margretha (Toellner) Bailey. He attended school at Fargo, graduating with the “Class of 1959”. After graduating High School he went to mechanics school at Okmulgee, Oklahoma where he completed the certification requirements to be an auto mechanic.

    Mary Ann Hunt Berry was born in Camargo, OK on Aug. 24, 1933 to Anna Mildred Blair Hunt and Herman Edward Hunt.  She was one of ten children.  She departed this life on April 30, 2013.   She attended Camargo Schools, and graduated with the class of 1951.  She continued her education at Southwestern State College in Weatherford, where she completed her bachelor's degree in Pharmacy.
