Woodward, Okla. — Robert “Bob” Atchley, 85 year old Woodward resident, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, August 2, 2012 in the Mooreland Heritage Manor.  At his request he was cremated and there will be no service.  Arrangements are under the direction of the Billings Funeral Home.

 

Robert Atchley was born on March 30, 1927 in Wayne, Oklahoma to Graden “Doc” and Mable (Lowrey) Atchley and grew up in the Mangum Willow area.  After working as a “Sleeper” for the Woodward Fire Department he became the Fire Chief and served 20 years, retiring in 1965.  In 1961 he served as President of the Oklahoma State Firefighters Association.

 

Bob was a member of the Woodward Free Will Baptist Church and he enjoyed Bible study very much.  He loved fishing, hunting and really enjoyed traveling.

 

Because of his ill health, Bob moved to the Mooreland Heritage Manor a couple of years ago.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, one brother and his great friend, Melvin Gaston.

 

He is survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins and his family of the heart, Donna Gaston, Bob and Riley Gaston, Jeff and Sherri Phillips, and Jared and Jacob.

    Jan R. Brown passed from this earthly life to his eternal home with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on May 20th, after a short illness. He was born on June 21, 1939 in El Reno OK. Jan and his wife of 56 years have enjoyed the last 20 years of semi-retirement in Hot Springs Village AR. Many great memories have been created for family and friends in this beautiful golfing community.

As a child Lana lived on the farm near Webb, Oklahoma and attended Taloga High School graduating with the class of 1983.

    Lloyd Lorn Elston went to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, May 11, 2013. He was born September 24, 1919 to John and Sarah Elizabeth (Taylor) Elston west of Laverne, Oklahoma in Beaver County. He was the 12th child out of 13 and the youngest boy in the family.

    Jo Ann Keltch, 68 year old Sharon resident, died Wednesday, May 8, 2013 in the Woodward Regional Hospital.   Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, May 11, 2013 in the South Persimmon Baptist Church with the Reverend Jay Custar and the Reverend Eddie White officiating.  Burial will follow in the South Persimmon Cemetery under the direction of the Billings Funeral Home.  Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday,  May 10, 2013 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
