Woodward, Okla. — Etha L. Harding, 77 year old Woodward resident, died Saturday, June 9, 2012 in the Woodward Regional Hospital. Graveside funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, June 14, 2012 in the Highland Cemetery in Winfield, Kansas. Burial will follow with the Billings Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Etha LaVonne (Griffith) Harding was born on August 6, 1934 in Winfield, Kansas to Ralph Israel and Laura Irena (Evans) Griffith. Etha was reared in Winfield, Kansas and graduated from Winfield High School in 1952. She worked for Winfield Farmers Union Cooperative Association for five years. Etha was united in marriage to Joseph Christopher Harding on September 21, 1957 in Winfield, Kansas. They made their home in Lubbock, Texas and they were blessed with two children, Melissa JoAnn and Bradley Joseph. While in Lubbock, Etha worked for Bell Telephone and Lubbock City County. They moved to Snyder, Texas in 1966 and to Woodward in 1976. The family moved to Wetumka in 1983 and then to Wagner in 1986. She was preceded in death by her husband on December 21, 1986. Etha moved back to Woodward in 1987 and she has lived here since that time.
She is survived by one daughter Melissa Poole and husband Keith of Woodward; one son, Bradley Harding of Wagner; one brother Donald Griffith and wife Rosemary of Tulsa; one sister Dorothy Cleverdon of Wichita, Kansas; sister-in-law, Sylvia Griffith of Winfield, Kansas; two grandchildren, Cassandra Poole of Woodward, Jacee Harding of Wagner; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one brother Elmer Griffith and two nephews, Doug Griffith and Brian Griffith.
