Gayla Sue Colvard

Woodward, Okla. — Gayla Sue Colvard, 58 year old Woodward resident, died Saturday, September 1, 2012 at her home in Woodward.  A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held at 10:00 a.m Tuesday, September 11, 2012 in the Billings Funeral Home Chapel.  A private family burial will be held at a later date.

 

Gayla Sue (Rymer) Colvard was born on August 16, 1954 in Thomas, Oklahoma to Paul and Geneva (Keith) Rymer.  She was reared in Canton and graduated from Canton High School in 1972.  Gayla was united in marriage to James Colvard on July 16, 1978 in the Canton Christian Church.  They were blessed with three children, Justin, John Paul and Cody.  They made their home in Canton before moving to Woodward in 1989.  Gayla was a stay at home mom, taking care of her precious boys whom she thought the world of.

 

She was a member of the Canton Christian Church.  She enjoyed fishing and spending time with her family and friends, especially her sons, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.  Gayla always enjoyed watching Oklahoma sports.

 

She is survived by her husband James Colvard of the home; three sons, Cody Colvard of Woodward, Justin Colvard of Woodward, John Paul of Altus; four grandchildren, Kiley, Devrey, Dawson, Timothy; one great-grandchild Rylee and one on the way; other relatives and many friends.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Ronnie Rymer and her grandson Austin.

 

Gayla cared more about others than herself and will be missed by all that knew her.

Jan and his wife of 56 years have enjoyed the last 20 years of semi-retirement in Hot Springs Village AR. Many great memories have been created for family and friends in this beautiful golfing community.

As a child Lana lived on the farm near Webb, Oklahoma and attended Taloga High School graduating with the class of 1983.

    Lloyd Lorn Elston went to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, May 11, 2013. He was born September 24, 1919 to John and Sarah Elizabeth (Taylor) Elston west of Laverne, Oklahoma in Beaver County. He was the 12th child out of 13 and the youngest boy in the family.

    Jo Ann Keltch, 68 year old Sharon resident, died Wednesday, May 8, 2013 in the Woodward Regional Hospital.   Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, May 11, 2013 in the South Persimmon Baptist Church with the Reverend Jay Custar and the Reverend Eddie White officiating.  Burial will follow in the South Persimmon Cemetery under the direction of the Billings Funeral Home.  Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday,  May 10, 2013 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
