Woodward, Okla. —
Jean Cavett, 61 year old Woodward area resident, died Monday, February 4, 2013 in the Grace Living Center. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, February 7, 2013 in the Lincoln Avenue Baptist Church, Lincoln Campus. Burial will follow in the Elmwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, February 6, 2013 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Arrangements are under the direction of the Billings Funeral Home.
Linda Jean (Greenwood) Cavett was born on May 11, 1951 in Madison, Indiana to William Ervin and Mabel Lois (Stewart) Greenwood. Jean was reared on a farm west of Madison, Indiana. She attended school in Southwestern Hanover, Indiana and graduated in 1969. Jean worked as a Oilfield Pumper, a Physical Therapy Assistant and a Certified Nurse Assistant. She was united in marriage to Tom Cavett on June 24, 1989 in Madison, Indiana. They made their home in Sharon. After Tom’s retirement they enjoyed traveling and spending time with the family. Tom preceded Jean in death on July 28, 1995. Jean continued living in the Woodward area and has lived there since that time. She went to work for the Woodward Pregnancy Center and enjoyed her work there.
Jean was a member of the Lincoln Avenue Baptist Church. She enjoyed gardening, her animals and being with her grandchildren, whom she loved dearly.
She is survived by her daughter, Marla Babb and husband Marvin of Woodward; her mother Lois Monroe of Madison, Indiana; three grandchildren, Gary Babb and wife Abby of Woodward, Mariah Babb of Woodward; one sister, Debbie Campbell and husband Rick of Madison, Indiana; niece Kimberly Courtney of Madison, Indiana; two step-daughters, Annete Cavett Coppenbarger and husband Ralph “Butch” of Choctaw, Ramona Cavett of Oklahoma City; two step-grandchildren, Angela Thompson, Gayla Robinson, both of Oklahoma City; step-great-grandchildren, Meagan and Austin Thompson, Casey and Whitney Robinson; special friends from the Pregnancy Center, Belva Mabra and husband Alan, Mary Looman and husband Dane, Barbara Loges and husband Allen, Jane Gaston, Irene Estel and husband Dean; other relatives and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her father and husband Tom Cavett.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Woodward Pregnancy Center or the Lincoln Avenue Baptist Church (DSM) Account with the funeral home accepting the contributions.
