The funeral services for Mrs. Jean Ann Fuqua , 74, of Enid  will be held on Friday, November 23, 2012 at 2:00 PM in the Brown-Cummings Funeral Home Chapel in Enid, Oklahoma with a gravesite service after at the Waynoka Oklahoma Cemetery.  Jean passed away at her home in Enid on Thursday, November 17, 2012.  She was born on April 30, 1938 on a farm southeast of Qunlain, Oklahoma to Olen and Lena (Harris) Ford.  She was the valedictorian of her graduating class from Quinlain High School in 1956.  She met her husband, Raymond Fuqua on a blind date in 1955 and they married September 2, 1956.  Being a military spouse, she followed her husband for 28 years as they traveled to Ari Force Bases from Alaska to Germany ending up at Vance Air Force Base in Enid, Oklahoma.  Jean was a loving mother serving as Cub Scout Den Mother.  She worked at Sears in Enid, Oklahoma for 19 years before retiring in 1999.  Jean is survived by husband: Raymond Fuqua (Enid, OK); sons: Duane Fuqua and his wife Novella (Olympia, WA), David Fuqua and his wife Robin (Texline, TX), and Darrel Fuqua (Everett, WA); Siblings: Janet Comly (Hatboro, PA) and Gary Ford (Woodward, OK) and grandchildren, Dusty, Cody and Brynn and various nephews and nieces. she was preceded in death by her parents and brother Keith Ford. Memorials may be made in her name to the Salvation Army with Brown-Cummings Serving as custodians of the funds. Condolences may be sent to the family through Brown-Cummings.com.

    Karl Wayne Platte was born December 2, 1980 to Kenny and Gail Platte in Big Spring, Texas. Karl tragically left this life on June 1, 2013 as a result of a car accident. He was 32 years of age.  He moved with his family to Dora, New Mexico in 1986. While in Dora, Karl asked Jesus into his life at a very young age. It was there that Karl’s competitive, athletic spirit was kindled. In 1992, the Platte family moved to Wilson, Texas where Karl participated in every sport he could imagine and excelled in them all. He grew a great love for all sports and the outdoors.

    Funeral services for Wilda Marie Schmidt age 84 of Woodward will be held at 10:00 am, Tuesday, June 4, 2013, in the Billings Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Jim Steenbergen officiating.  Interment will follow in Elmwood Cemetery beside her beloved husband Earl.  Visitation will be held on June 3, 2013 from 9:00 am until 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
