Dora Lue (Brannon) Wilson

Woodward, Okla. —

Dora Lue (Brannon) Wilson was born at the home in Freedom on Sept. 17,1941. She was the 8th of nine children born to the local blacksmith , A.L. (Abe) and his wife, Eva Mae (Hughes) Brennon. She grew up in Freedom where she attended Freedom School through the ninth grade.

On November 24th 1962, Dora married Kenneth L. (Red) Wilson. Together they raised five children, they lived in several places in Oklahoma including Waynoka, Lawton, Buffalo, Woodward, Texas, Kansas, and Arizona (Sierra Vista and Tombstone).

Dora worked as a homemaker, a caterer and a waitress in several local restaurants and cafes. She also worked inTombstone, AZ as an actress for the OK Corral gunfight reinactments.

Dora's pastimes included bingo, sewing, reading and just visiting with people. She never met a stanger, loved talking about her family (especially her grandchildren) and how her family was growing.

Dora was a member of the United Methodist Church.

Dora Leaves behind many loved ones including Red, her husband of 35 years; four children, LaDonna Clark and husband Mark of Mooreland, OK; Rosie Jobes and her husband, Paco of Liberal, KS; Eva Sanders of Okema, OK; Chad Wilson and wife Kelly of Tulsa, OK; one daughter-in-law, Carrol Wilson of Sierra Vista, AZ, 2 brothers A. L. (Al) Brennon and wife Edwinna of Erie, KS; E. H. (Pat) Brennon of Bixby, AZ.; 2 sisters Elsie Wylie of Denton TX; Pearl Pynes and husband Charles of Harmon, OK; She also leaves behind eight grandchildren and their spouses, Dustin and Michelle Clark; Maxwell Clark; Zackary Clark; Kirby Clark; Lilly Anne Wilson; Christopher Kite; Steven Kite; Miguel and Samatha Andrade. Dora has six great-grandchildren: Ally, Chase, Chesnie, Zain, Mackenzie Clark and Nox Andrade. She also has many nieces and nephews.

Dora was preceded in death by her parents, one son, Kenneth L. (Bubby) Wilson, three sisters, Maxine, Dorothy, Martha, one brother Harry Ellis, one great-granddaughter Lyndsey, and two special nieces, Barbara and Soundra.

Dora will be dearly missed by all that knew her.

Graveside services will be held June 23, 2012 11:00 a.m. At Haskew Cemetery with theRev. Aaron Martin officiating.

Jan and his wife of 56 years have enjoyed the last 20 years of semi-retirement in Hot Springs Village AR. Many great memories have been created for family and friends in this beautiful golfing community.

    Olen Thomas 69, year old Woodward resident died Friday, May 17, 2013 in Oklahoma City.  Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Thursday May 23, 2013 in the First Baptist Church with Reverend Guy McGraw officiating.  Interment will follow in Elmwood Cemetery with the Billings Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

    Jo Ann Keltch, 68 year old Sharon resident, died Wednesday, May 8, 2013 in the Woodward Regional Hospital.   Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, May 11, 2013 in the South Persimmon Baptist Church with the Reverend Jay Custar and the Reverend Eddie White officiating.  Burial will follow in the South Persimmon Cemetery under the direction of the Billings Funeral Home.  Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday,  May 10, 2013 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
