Woodward, Okla. — Luther Eldon Drane, 67 year old Woodward resident, died Wednesday, January 16, 2013 in Stigler, Oklahoma.  Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 22, 2013 in the Billings Funeral Home Chapel with Gene Karn officiating.  Burial will follow in the Elmwood Cemetery.

 

Luther Eldon Drane was born on May 14, 1945 in Fayetteville, Arkansas to Luther Elgin and Wilma Florene (Kinsey) Drane.  Luther was raised in Wichita, Kansas and attended school there.  He moved to Woodward in 1963 where he worked in the oilfield for various companies.  Luther moved to Elk City where he operated the Christian Coffee House for several years.  While in Elk City he received the 5 Who Care Award in 1987.  He moved back to Woodward in 2000 where he volunteered with families helping families.  He had been living in Eufaula since 2007 working at Coles Evergreen Marina.  These were some of the happiest times of his life.

 

He loved riding his motorcycle.  All through his life he tried to help other people.  He loved fishing and spending time with nephews and nieces.  He was a member of A.B.A.T.E.

 

He is survived by two sisters, Madeline Faye Cole and husband Gene of Lake Eufaula, Christina Michelle Taylor and husband Mike of Concan, Texas; many nephews and nieces and best friend Jennifer Rinker; step-father Ross Tromblee of Lake Eufaula; other family members and many friends.

 

Luther was preceded in death by his mother Wilma Florene Tromblee, brother Chuck Drane, and sister Carla Tromblee.

As a child Lana lived on the farm near Webb, Oklahoma and attended Taloga High School graduating with the class of 1983.

    Lloyd Lorn Elston went to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, May 11, 2013. He was born September 24, 1919 to John and Sarah Elizabeth (Taylor) Elston west of Laverne, Oklahoma in Beaver County. He was the 12th child out of 13 and the youngest boy in the family.

    Jo Ann Keltch, 68 year old Sharon resident, died Wednesday, May 8, 2013 in the Woodward Regional Hospital.   Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, May 11, 2013 in the South Persimmon Baptist Church with the Reverend Jay Custar and the Reverend Eddie White officiating.  Burial will follow in the South Persimmon Cemetery under the direction of the Billings Funeral Home.  Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday,  May 10, 2013 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm.

    LaRoy “Chuck” Vernon Bailey, 74 year old rural Fargo resident, was born March 26, 1939 at Shattuck, Oklahoma, to Loys and Margretha (Toellner) Bailey. He attended school at Fargo, graduating with the “Class of 1959”. After graduating High School he went to mechanics school at Okmulgee, Oklahoma where he completed the certification requirements to be an auto mechanic.

    Mary Ann Hunt Berry was born in Camargo, OK on Aug. 24, 1933 to Anna Mildred Blair Hunt and Herman Edward Hunt.  She was one of ten children.  She departed this life on April 30, 2013.   She attended Camargo Schools, and graduated with the class of 1951.  She continued her education at Southwestern State College in Weatherford, where she completed her bachelor's degree in Pharmacy.
