Woodward, Okla. — Matthew George Scott IV of Mustang, OK, age 19, died Sunday December 30, 2012. 

He was born September 5, 1993 in Oklahoma City to Matthew George Scott  III and Stacey (Egner) Scott.  He was a 2012 graduate of Mustang High School and currently enrolled at Oklahoma State University, majoring in Mechanical Engineering. 

He loved playing basketball and baseball for the Mustang Broncos.  Matthew was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing with his family and friends and also loved to go snow boarding and wake boarding with his friends.  He loved life and always had a smile on his face,  Matthew lived for his parents, brother and little sister. 

He was preceded in death by his grandfather Matthew George Scott II and was survived by his mom and dad, brother and sister, Peyton and Callie, as well as grandparents;   Joyce and Jerry Egner of Alva, Audry Haldaman of Muskogee, John and Terri Guest of Bartlesville, and Billy Scott,  great grandmothers; Alberta Stout and Betty Scott all of Woodward. Aunts and uncles; Bonnie and Ed Johnson, Susan Borgstrom, Jeff Borgstrom, Scott and Charlotte Neumeyer, Scott and Kelly Hensley, Tommy and Lori Scott, Forrest and Holly Scott, Junior and Laurel Elliot, Lynn Guest and numerous cousins and  family members. Matthew is also survived by his best friend, Eric Mackie and college roommate and friend, Austin Liberton. 

Services will be 10:00am Friday January 4, 2013 in the Commons Area at Mustang High School with interment to follow at the Mustang Cemetery.

    Leona Austin, 91 year old Woodward resident, died Wednesday, June 5, 2013 at her home south of Woodward.  Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, June 10, 2013 at the Seventh Day Adventist Church.  Burial will be in the Elmwood Cemetery.  Arrangements are under the direction of the Billings Funeral Home

  • Karl Platte Karl Wayne Platte

    Karl Wayne Platte was born December 2, 1980 to Kenny and Gail Platte in Big Spring, Texas. Karl tragically left this life on June 1, 2013 as a result of a car accident. He was 32 years of age.  He moved with his family to Dora, New Mexico in 1986. While in Dora, Karl asked Jesus into his life at a very young age. It was there that Karl’s competitive, athletic spirit was kindled. In 1992, the Platte family moved to Wilson, Texas where Karl participated in every sport he could imagine and excelled in them all. He grew a great love for all sports and the outdoors.

    Funeral services for Wilda Marie Schmidt age 84 of Woodward will be held at 10:00 am, Tuesday, June 4, 2013, in the Billings Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Jim Steenbergen officiating.  Interment will follow in Elmwood Cemetery beside her beloved husband Earl.  Visitation will be held on June 3, 2013 from 9:00 am until 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
