Woodward, Okla. —
Wayne Converse, 70 year old Woodward resident, died Wednesday, December 26, 2012 at the Woodward Regional Hospital. A private family memorial service will be held at a later date. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of the Billings Funeral Home.
Wayne Edward Converse was born on July 22, 1942 in Woodward, Oklahoma to Gerald Wayne and Rosellia Ann (Huffman) Converse. Wayne was reared in Mutual and graduated from Mutual High School in 1960. He graduated from Oklahoma State University with his Bachelor of Science Degree in Business in 1965. Wayne was united in marriage to Angeline Marie “Nina” Dusak on September 23, 1967 in Woodward, Oklahoma. They made their home in Woodward and they have lived here since that time.
Wayne worked on the family farm in Mutual while growing up. He owned Grace’s Shop and Young Sophisticates for 25 years. He also worked at Weatherford ALS for 23 years.
Wayne was the founder of the Woodward Coin Club. He enjoyed cooking, fishing, coin collecting, vacationing in New Mexico and Colorado and playing with his beloved Cocker Spaniel, Cassie Lee.
He is survived by his wife Nina Converse of the home; one son, Jeffery Wayne Converse of Woodward; one daughter Jennifer Lee Stong and husband Donald of Edmond; step-grandchildren, Cade and Cody Stong of Edmond, Kyle Stong of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Cameron Stong of Fairview; sisters, Geralda Wolfe and husband Chuck of Bonita Springs, Florida, Geraldine McDowell and husband Joe Taraci of Lindale, Texas, Joan Converse of Midwest City; other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Gerald Wayne Converse and his mother, Rosellia Anne Converse.

Karl Wayne Platte
Karl Wayne Platte was born December 2, 1980 to Kenny and Gail Platte in Big Spring, Texas. Karl tragically left this life on June 1, 2013 as a result of a car accident. He was 32 years of age. He moved with his family to Dora, New Mexico in 1986. While in Dora, Karl asked Jesus into his life at a very young age. It was there that Karl’s competitive, athletic spirit was kindled. In 1992, the Platte family moved to Wilson, Texas where Karl participated in every sport he could imagine and excelled in them all. He grew a great love for all sports and the outdoors.
