Johnnie Sue Kimberlin

Woodward, Okla. — Johnnie Sue Kimberlin, 81 year old Alva, OK resident and former Sharon, OK resident, died Wednesday, January 2, 2013 in Alva. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, January 7, 2013 at the First Baptist Church of Sharon, OK. Interment will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 8, 2013 in the Truce Cemetery near Jacksboro, Texas. Arrangements are under the direction of the Billings Funeral Home.

Johnnie Sue (McCullough) Kimberlin was born on March 20, 1931 in Lovelady, Texas to Jasper Waymon and Minnie Mae (Barrick) McCullough. She was reared in Decatur, Texas and attended school there. She was united in marriage to William Glenn “Bill” Kimberlin and they blended their families together. She had three sons and a daughter and he had two daughters and they had one child together. They made their home in Jacksboro, Texas and Graham, Texas before Johnnie moved back to Jacksboro. In September of 2005 Johnnie moved to Sharon, Oklahoma and she lived there until recently moving to Alva to be closer to her daughter, Darla.

Johnnie was a member of the Sharon First Baptist Church. She loved playing games especially joker, aggravation and pitch with a group of friends “The Card Ladies” She also loved fishing and working in her yard, but most of all she loved spending time with her family and friends.

She is survived by three sons, Ricky Smith and wife Carolyn of Jacksboro, Texas, Ronny Kimberlin and wife Kristy of Wichita Falls, Texas; William Arthur Kimberlin of Breckenridge, Texas; and one daughter Darla Adams of Alva, Oklahoma; two step-daughters, Kelly Curtner and Wynonna Norrell both of Conroe, Texas and five step grand-children.

Four grandchildren, Laurie Kyle and husband Kent of Archer City, Texas, Brandy Jones and husband Jesse of Alva, OK, Blake Adams of Cedardale, OK and Kourtney Kimberlin of Graham, Texas.

Five great-grandchildren, Brady and Sara Kyle, Payton and Jaxon Jones, Mackenzie Francisco;

One brother, Bobby Ray McCullough of Decatur, Texas and one sister, Zelma Louise Mahaffey of Waurika, OK.

A special ex daughter-in-law Kim Kimberlin of Graham, Texas and Casey Morris (Brett’s fiancée) of Leonard, Texas; She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends, including a very special friend Melba Martin and many dear friends in Sharon, OK.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers; Walter Howard McCullough and Earnest Leon McCullough and one sister, Betty Lou Mercer, and her grandson Brett Glen Francisco.

    Karl Wayne Platte was born December 2, 1980 to Kenny and Gail Platte in Big Spring, Texas. Karl tragically left this life on June 1, 2013 as a result of a car accident. He was 32 years of age.  He moved with his family to Dora, New Mexico in 1986. While in Dora, Karl asked Jesus into his life at a very young age. It was there that Karl’s competitive, athletic spirit was kindled. In 1992, the Platte family moved to Wilson, Texas where Karl participated in every sport he could imagine and excelled in them all. He grew a great love for all sports and the outdoors.

    Funeral services for Wilda Marie Schmidt age 84 of Woodward will be held at 10:00 am, Tuesday, June 4, 2013, in the Billings Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Jim Steenbergen officiating.  Interment will follow in Elmwood Cemetery beside her beloved husband Earl.  Visitation will be held on June 3, 2013 from 9:00 am until 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
