Woodward, Okla. — Myrtle Marie Wreath, 90 year old Woodward resident, died Wednesday, October 10, 2012 in the Woodward Regional Hospital.  Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, October 13, 2012 at the First Assembly of God Church with the Reverend Donnetta Hunter officiating.  Arrangements are under the direction of the Billings Funeral Home.

 

Myrtle Marie (Plumlee) Wreath was born on August 4, 1922 in Richmond, Oklahoma, the third child of 12 to James Columbus and Jewel Fern (Powders) Plumlee.  Myrtle was reared in Ellendale, Oklahoma which is west of Freedom.  She graduated from Freedom High School in May of 1939.  Myrtle was united in marriage to Louis “Paul” Wreath on July 9, 1941 in the Nazarene Church in Woodward, Oklahoma.  They made their home with Paul’s parents in Mutual for six months and then moved to an old shack on the Gaston place in Mutual.  In the summer of 1939 she did housework for moms with new babies before going to work at a café in Woodward.  She was a great mother to her three children and worked along side her husband doing farm chores.  Paul preceded her in death in April of 2006.

 

Myrtle was a member of the Mutual Christian Church for many years and later attended the First Assembly of God Church of Woodward.  She was an excellent seamstress and cook and enjoyed square dancing, gardening, reading, puzzles, crocheting, quilting and family get togethers.  Myrtle loved spending time with her family, her friends and her beloved dog.

 

She is survived by her son Harvey Loyd Wreath and wife Judy of Moore; nine grandchildren, Angela Lynn, Cindy Jeane, Eddie Lee, Tyrene, Brandy Loyd, Shawn Cleston, Sherrie Marie, Michael Wayne, Troy Brent; 20 great-grandchildren, Courtney, Nicole, Jennifer, Amy, Jami, Lacey, Tanner, Trevor, Matthew, Samantha, Harley, Tehran, Haven, Kostin, Jessica, Joselyn, Sacha, Garrett, Skylar, Misty; five great-great grandchildren; one brother, Ed Plumlee; sisters, Betty Crowder, Carolyn Davidson, Bonnie Carl, Darla Engom; her very special dog “Sammy” and a special friend and care giver Marlene Crossland; other relatives and many friends.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Paul, one son Jimmy Wreath in 1995, daughter Paula Whitney in 2004, brothers, Roy Plumlee, Bob Plumlee, Pearl Plumlee and Junior Plumlee.

Jan and his wife of 56 years have enjoyed the last 20 years of semi-retirement in Hot Springs Village AR. Many great memories have been created for family and friends in this beautiful golfing community.

As a child Lana lived on the farm near Webb, Oklahoma and attended Taloga High School graduating with the class of 1983.

    Lloyd Lorn Elston went to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, May 11, 2013. He was born September 24, 1919 to John and Sarah Elizabeth (Taylor) Elston west of Laverne, Oklahoma in Beaver County. He was the 12th child out of 13 and the youngest boy in the family.
