Justin Christopher Bedwell

Woodward, Okla. —  

Memorial Services for Justin Christopher Bedwell, 21, of Fairview, Oklahoma will be held at 2 pm, Saturday, October 13, 2012 at the Fairview Methodist Church with Reverend Rich Reddinger officiating. Arrangements are by Fairview Funeral Home, Inc.

Justin Christopher Bedwell was born January 22, 1991 to Jeff and Diane (Rexwinkle) Bedwell in Miami, OK and passed from this life suddenly after a tragic automobile accident on October 5, 2012.

Justin began influencing his many friends while attending grade school in Okeene, OK. At age eleven his family moved to Isabella, OK, where Justin started school in Fairview, OK at Chamberlain Middle School. He graduated from Fairview High School with the Class of 2009. Justin was a very active 4-H’er in both Blaine and Major County where he learned to appreciate bug collecting, arts and crafts and citizenship projects. Justin became a very active member of the Fairview FFA Chapter where he served as an officer and received many honors and recognitions for his hard work. He was a recipient of the WLC trip to Washington DC in addition to being recognized in his local chapter for his project work with cattle and horticulture. Among his achievements in FFA, he received both the State FFA Degree of the Oklahoma FFA Association and the American Farmer Degree from the National FFA Organization. He was recognized three times at the Oklahoma State FFA Convention for his work in horticulture and floriculture as a State Proficiency winner in these categories. As a result, Justin was also named a top five proficiency finalist in Horticulture and for this was recognized at the National FFA convention as such. Justin was awarded and participated in an educational trip to Costa Rica in recognition for being a National Proficiency finalist. While in FFA, Justin was a breeder and exhibitor of Shorthorn Cattle. He was often successful as he participated in cattle shows at the local, county, state and national levels making many friends along the way. Justin was a member of the Oklahoma Junior Shorthorn Association and the National Junior Shorthorn Association in addition to the Oklahoma Junior Cattlemen’s Association.

Following high school Justin attended Conners State College and participated in livestock judging as a member of the Freshmen team in 2009-2010. After some deliberation, he chose to enter the work force and enjoyed an opportunity to work for the Foster Family in Michigan where he met new friends and living among the “tall trees”. Following this experience he began employment with the Farmers Elevator Company in Ames, OK and just recently began working for the Great Plains CO-OP in Lahoma as an Agronomist and Fertilizer Rig Operator.

Justin is survived by his parents, Jeff and Diane Bedwell, one brother Jared Bedwell and one sister Jennifer Bedwell all of Fairview. He is also survived by his Grandparents; Jack Bedwell of Homestead, OK, Shirley Bedwell of Mutual, OK, Ivan and Barbara Rexwinkle of Chetopa, KS, Pat and Wayne Shearhart of Big Cabin, OK and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Memorials can be made to the Fairview FFA-Horticulture with the Fairview Funeral Home Inc. acting as custodian.

    Jan R. Brown passed from this earthly life to his eternal home with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on May 20th, after a short illness. He was born on June 21, 1939 in El Reno OK. Jan and his wife of 56 years have enjoyed the last 20 years of semi-retirement in Hot Springs Village AR. Many great memories have been created for family and friends in this beautiful golfing community.

    Olen Thomas 69, year old Woodward resident died Friday, May 17, 2013 in Oklahoma City.  Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Thursday May 23, 2013 in the First Baptist Church with Reverend Guy McGraw officiating.  Interment will follow in Elmwood Cemetery with the Billings Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

    Lloyd Lorn Elston went to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, May 11, 2013. He was born September 24, 1919 to John and Sarah Elizabeth (Taylor) Elston west of Laverne, Oklahoma in Beaver County. He was the 12th child out of 13 and the youngest boy in the family.

    Jo Ann Keltch, 68 year old Sharon resident, died Wednesday, May 8, 2013 in the Woodward Regional Hospital.   Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, May 11, 2013 in the South Persimmon Baptist Church with the Reverend Jay Custar and the Reverend Eddie White officiating.  Burial will follow in the South Persimmon Cemetery under the direction of the Billings Funeral Home.  Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday,  May 10, 2013 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
