Woodward, Okla. — LaKeeta LaVonne Chase, 28, of Woodward died September 10, 2012 in Amarillo, Texas as a result of injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident. Family will receive friends at the Billings Funeral Home in Woodward on Sunday September 16, 2012 from 5:00-7:00 P.M.. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday September 17, 2012 at The Billings Funeral Home Chapel in Woodward with Interment to follow in the Waynoka Cemetery.



LaKeeta LaVonne Chase was born October 23, 1983 in Woodward, Oklahoma to Lewis Chase II and Tracy Harrington Chase. LaKeeta was engaged to be married to Jeremy Whisennand.

LaKeeta enjoyed collecting frogs and spending time with her children and loved riding motorcycles. She was the apple of her daddy’s eye. LaKeeta was employed at KFC here in Woodward.

She is survived by mother and step-father Tracy and Dean Krober of Woodward, children Meridian Owens, Zeke Owens and Faith Owens of Woodward brother Lewis Chase III and his wife Tina of Woodward, grandmother Mary Harrington and Grandfather Victor Redel. Great-grandma Billie McDowell. nieces Sarah Chase and Kerstin Chase, nephews Lewis Chase IV and Denver Chase. She is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins and a host of other family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father Lewis Chase II, grandmother Eva McDowell, grandfather Dwight McDowell and grandfather Denver Harrington.

    Karl Wayne Platte was born December 2, 1980 to Kenny and Gail Platte in Big Spring, Texas. Karl tragically left this life on June 1, 2013 as a result of a car accident. He was 32 years of age.  He moved with his family to Dora, New Mexico in 1986. While in Dora, Karl asked Jesus into his life at a very young age. It was there that Karl’s competitive, athletic spirit was kindled. In 1992, the Platte family moved to Wilson, Texas where Karl participated in every sport he could imagine and excelled in them all. He grew a great love for all sports and the outdoors.

    Funeral services for Wilda Marie Schmidt age 84 of Woodward will be held at 10:00 am, Tuesday, June 4, 2013, in the Billings Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Jim Steenbergen officiating.  Interment will follow in Elmwood Cemetery beside her beloved husband Earl.  Visitation will be held on June 3, 2013 from 9:00 am until 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
