Woodward, Okla. —
MERLIN RAY BULL, son of Edward John and Elizabeth (Black) Bull, was born September 1, 1962 at Clinton. He died Saturday, Oct. 30, 2010 in Enid following a sudden illness. He was 48 years of age.
Merlin was raised in Seiling where he attended school. He enjoyed fishing and was gifted in drawing and a painter of art. Mostly, he loved being with his family. He was a member of the Native American Church, as well as, a Dog Soldier and Kit Fox Clan member. He attended the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Woodward. In the early 1990’s he moved to El Reno where he met Brenda White and they had a son: Edward Charles. Later, he moved to Woodward where he met Shelley Bradley-Townes. They married February 16, 2008 in Seiling and made their home in Woodward. Merlin had worked in the oil fields as a roughneck for many years.
He is survived by his wife Shelley Bull of Woodward; one brother: Ervin Bull of Clinton; six sisters: Edwina Bull of Oklahoma City, Frances Garcia of Woodward, Diana Cassio of Woodward, Minnie Tapia of Sharon, Darlene Love of Woodward and Mary Bell Contreras of Oklahoma City; one step daughter: DeAnn Townes and one step-son: Patrick Bradley both of Oklahoma City; and he is also survived by many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, his son: Edward Charles Bull January 6, 1995 and one sister: Kay Flores January 8, 2010.
The wake service will be held at 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 3, 2010 at the Seiling-Fonda Community Center. The funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 4, 2010 at the Seiling Restoration Church with burial following in the Brumfield Cemetery at Seiling under the direction of the Redinger Funeral Home.
