The Woodward County Sheriff’s Office investigated an accidental death Wednesday afternoon near Sharon.
Carla Bunch of Vici was pronounced dead at the scene Wednesday after a lawnmower she was attempting to load rolled over on her.
“The cause of death was determined to be accidental after we arrived at the scene on Wednesday,” said Woodward County Undersheriff Monty Clem. “It seems Mrs. Bunch was loading a lawnmower onto a pickup when one of the metal ramps she was using slipped causing the mower to fall on top of the victim. It is a sad situation when an accident like this takes a life.”
Clem said the State Medical Examiner was called to the scene to investigate as well, and also ruled it an accident.
The cause of death has been determined, and according to Clem, it was the weight of the mower that caused the woman’s death.
“It seems she was crushed by the mower,” said Clem. The weight of the mower crushed several major organs causing the death to occur. . . . this death will be determined an accident.”
