Woodward, Okla. —
The Woodward Board of Education will be holding its monthly meeting on Monday, Oct. 8 at 6 p.m. at the Board of Education building.
The board will discuss the estimate of needs for 2012-2013 and the financial statement for 2011-2012 that have been prepared by the Carroll Auditing Firm.
"Every district has to have the estimate of needs for this year to show how much they think they are going to spend during the year," Sue Laird, board clerk, said.
Board members will also call for the upcoming school election with the filing period in December and the election in February. Office No. 3, currently held by Glenn Billings, is on the ballot this time.
The board will also vote on the request to close split precincts for the February election, according to Laird.
"The election board gives us numbers of who is registered in what precincts and if that number is very low or zero, we don't want someone sitting there all day when they won't have people coming in to vote," she said.
The board will also discuss the hiring of 6 positions, some that have opened up since school began, Laird said.
These include a bus driver; Cedar Heights custodian; Middle School 6th grade Math teacher; 2 workers for Boomer Kids Club and a district ELL Paraprofessional.
The board will also go over the consent agenda which contains primarily routine items.
