Woodward County Commissioners will decide Monday what response they want to give regarding a write up from the state Health Department regarding violations found at the jail.
According to a letter from the Health Department dated Jan. 13, the jail was found to be in violation of safety regulations because inmates had put paper over light fixtures in their cells. It was also found to be overcrowded by housing 12 inmates over its 41-bed capacity.
Sheriff Gary Stanley is expected to provide a written response to the violations and the commissioners are expected to decide whether to sign it.
The response will then be forwarded to the Health Department.
In other business at their 10 a.m. meeting Monday at the Woodward County Courthouse, the commissioners are slated to approve monthly reports of county officers for January and consider a resolution regarding monthly highway expenditures for February.
