City has brief agenda for Tuesday meeting

Woodward, Okla. — Woodward City Commissioners have a brief agenda for their regular meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesday in City Hall.

The meeting is being held Tuesday, Feb. 19 because city offices will be closed Monday in recognition of President's Day.

Most of the items on the city commission agenda and Woodward Municipal Authority (WMA) agenda are listed under the consent dockets for each board.  The WMA meeting immediately follows the commission meeting.

On the commission's consent docket items include a resolution to declare 8 outdoor warning sirens as surplus so that they may be salvaged for donation to surrounding communities.  According to a report from Woodward Emergency Manager Matt Lehenbauer that is included with the resolution, all of the sirens will need new activation systems and will have to be inspected and tested prior to installation in the other communities.

Other items on the city commission consent docket include facility use agreements with the Oklahoma High School Rodeo Association for the use of Crystal Beach Stadium for a rodeo in June and use of the roundup arena for events slated in March, April, and October.   There is also a facility use agreement with 1000 Hills Ranch Church for use of Crystal Beach Stadium for cow dog trials to be held in March.

The only other business item on the city commission agenda that's not listed on the consent docket is an ordinance approving the re-codification of city ordinances to incorporate new ordinances and any revisions to existing ordinances.

Then on the WMA agenda, the only scheduled business items are listed under the consent docket.  These items, which are considered "routine in nature" according to the agenda, include several utility permits to allow for the construction of 8-inch sewer lines to serve Coca-Cola Enterprises and the Highley Addition and a 12-inch sewer line to serve Valve Tech.

The WMA consent docket also includes a lease renewal between the WMA and Petroleum Services regarding the lease of property along Western Ave. which Petroleum Services uses as a pipe storage yard.  According to the agenda packet, the only change to the lease will be a raise in the monthly rent from $100 a month to $250 a month.
