Woodward, Okla. —
County commissioners will be taking action on professional legal services to be provided to the county concerning a tax dispute by Nextera Energy Resources/Sooner Wind LLC.
The county meeting is Tuesday at 10 a.m. at the courthouse rather than Monday due to the Labor Day holiday.
According to Charolett Waggoner, county clerk, this company has disputed its taxes and is suing the county.
"Tisdal & O'Hara wish to represent the county in this case," Waggoner said.
Last week a public hearing was held for the annexation of 2 pieces of land to be added to the Quinlan rural water district.
"They didn't vote on it last week, because it was not included on the agenda, so they will be voting on it this week," Waggoner said.
The commissioners will also be taking action on a request for rezoning classification for R&L Financial Solutions on 2 tracts of land located in section 15-T22N-R20WIM.
The request is to go from A-1 general agriculture to I-2 general industrial.
"They want to clean the lots up and use them for either commercial buildings, commercial yards or for mobile homes," Waggoner said.
Other action that will take place includes the revised request for the June payment of contract funds and monthly report for the NW Domestic Crisis Services grant #14758-ESG-11, monthly jail report and blanket purchase orders.
