Woodward, Okla. —
Woodward County commissioners will open sealed bids for limestone chips for all highway districts and bids for goat and sheep pens during their meeting Monday.
The meeting is at 10 a.m. in the Woodward County Courthouse.
Charolett Waggoner, county clerk, said commissioners take bids on limestone chips to repair roads every 6 months. The goat and sheep pens will be used at the Woodward County Fairgrounds she said.
"Last year there were so many goats that came into the stock shows, especially the spring district stock show, that they were needing more pens," Waggoner said.
The last time bids were taken an goat and sheep pens for the county was in 2009..
Commissioners will also vote on the allocation of alcoholic beverage tax for the month of October. Waggoner said she the amount of money each town receives is based on a 10-year population census. Here is a list of what towns may receive if approved by commissioners on Monday:
• Mooreland: $964.40
• Mutual: $49.44
• Sharon: $109.40
• Ft. Supply: $267.44
• Woodward: $9,766.40
Approval for an alternate daily cover machine for the Northwest Solid Waste Disposal Authority is also needed by commissioners on a bid from the company Justin Seed. Commissioners approved the bid in August and the company has selected a machine for the commissioners to approve.
If the machine is approved, commissioners will also request a transfer of funds from the Northwest Solid Waste Disposal Authority Maintenance and Operation fund into the Northwest Solid Waste Disposal Authority Capital Outlay Fund in order to purchase the machine.
Commissioners will also vote to update the county fire chief's USB air cards. Waggoners said the cards are used so the fire department can get wireless internet while they are away on a call. It is something the fire department has had in the past, the cards just need to update it she said.
