There wasn’t much activity at county election boards during the opening day of the filing period for school board offices on Monday.
Only three people filed in Woodward County - one in the Fort Supply School District and two in Sharon-Mutual.
Incumbent Lynn Easterwood filed for another team in Office No. 5, but two other offices open for filing - No. 3 and No. 4 - didn’t draw any interest.
Mark Shirley and Misty D. Thompson both filed for Office No. 5 in Sharon-Mutual. The incumbent is Kelly Overton.
There were no filings Monday in Woodward where Linda Harrison is the incumbent and in Mooreland where Brett Bates currently holds the office.
Also, nobody filed in High Plains Technology Center Zone 3, a position currently held by Dr. Virgil Wells.
The filing period continues today from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on Wednesday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
School elections are Feb. 9.
In Ellis County, Kevin O’Brien filed for re-election in Gage and Terry Brent Imke did the same in Shattuck. Bill Hallmark filed in Fargo.
In Dewey County, Troy Guthrie filed in Vici and in Seiling Robert C. Tate filed for re-election.
There were no filings in Harper County, which includes school districts in Buffalo and Laverne.
In Woods County, the only office to draw interest was Zone 5 for Northwest Technology Center. Stan Cline signed up to run for that position.
