It’s a great year to bring your family home to Woodward for the holidays.
Woodward Tourism and Convention Bureau has announced they will present a Christmas Concert Series, Dec. 4- 20.
“We wanted to create family events that people can attend over the weekends leading up to Christmas,” said Debbie Hickman, events coordinator for Woodward Tourism.
The schedule of performers for the concert series is as follows:
• Dec. 4 at 7:30 p.m. The Great Western Opry Band- Enjoy a country Christmas with the popular house band from the monthly Great Western Opry show in Vici.
• Dec. 5 at 7:30 p.m. The Judy White and T.Z. Wright Christmas Show and CD Release- The duo will perform songs of advent and Christmas from their new CD titled “The King Shall Come.” The band will also feature the talents of local favorites Daniel Prather, Larry Moody and Brad Stone.
• Dec. 6 at 2 p.m. Christmas Spectacular- Entertainment has yet to be announced.
• Dec. 11 at 7:30 p.m. The Judy White and T.Z. Wright Christmas Show- The duo will perform songs from their new album along with other local musicians.
• Dec. 12 at 2 p.m. A Blues Rock ‘n’ Roll Christmas with 3 Legged Dog from Norman. Get in the party spirit with blues, rock and ballads from this versatile band of seasoned musicians.
• Dec. 13 at 2 p.m. Mooreland Methodist Choir Christmas Concert. Everyone is sure to enjoy the sound of the choir as they offer songs of the season. This choir released their own CD earlier this year and their performances feature several outstanding solo voices blended with an unmatched ensemble vocal sound.
• Dec. 18 at 7:30 p.m. Christmas with Jennica. People of all ages are sure to be entertained by the vocal talents of Jennica Kenny.
• Dec. 19 at 7:30 p.m. Western Oklahoma Ballet Nutcracker Excerpts. Make your Christmas complete with a special performance of excerpts from “The Nutcracker,” Tchaikovsky’s Ballet which has become a worldwide Christmas tradition.
• Dec. 20 at 2 p.m. Christmas Spectacular- Entertainment has yet to be announced.
All concerts will be held in The Woodward Arts Theatre. All concerts feature free admission, with the exception of “The Nutcracker.” Tickets for that event are available through Phillips Blue Door Events located at 914 Main, Suite A or by calling Teresa Phillips at 256-5646.

Ethnic food fair, raffle to benefit Outreach Center
High Plains Outreach Center’s annual Ethnic Food Fair will be held Feb. 11 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in Clayton Hall at the First Christian Church located at 9th St. and Oklahoma Ave. At the conclusion of this year's food fair, the Outreach Center will be raffling off a couple of prizes including a pair of Thunder tickets and a photo of Blake Griffin of the LA Clippers.
