Short meeting set for county

Woodward County commissioners will decide whether to appoint Mistie Dunn as acting county assessor to complete the unexpired term of assessor Debbie Gentry, who is retiring Nov. 30.

They will make their decision during their regular meeting at 10 a.m. Monday at the Woodward County Courthouse.

Gentry has served 34 years as county assessor. She is the one who recommended to the county commission at its last meeting that Dunn be appointed to replace her.

Dunn is currently first deputy in the county assessor’s office. The first deputy takes over the assessor’s duties when the assessor is gone out of the office.

In addition to appointing Dunn, the commissioners will act on a decision to dispose of equipment from the Woodward County treasurer’s office and will consider whether to act on a grant for Northwest Domestic Crisis Services.
