Bedlam helping out United Fund

The Bedlam football game has been known to divide the Woodward community between Sooners and Cowboys.

Although, for the past three years the rivals have come together for the annual Bedlam Ticket Raffle Fundraiser that supports the United Fund of Woodward.

“I encourage people to participate because the money goes to a good cause and the prizes are outstanding,” said United Fund Chairman Mickey Flynn.

This year's prizes for the Bedlam Fundraiser, are better than ever. The grand prize includes two tickets to the OU/OSU bedlam game in Norman, a gift certificate to Texas Roadhouse, a gift card for gas and a gift bucket filled with items to show your team spirit.

Four alternate prize packages will also be awarded. One package includes two tickets to the OSU/ Colorado game on Nov. 21, a gift certificate to Hideaway Pizza and a gift bucket.

Another package is for Homecoming activities at Northwestern Oklahoma State University. The package includes tickets to the game and the Miss Cinderella pageant, food and gas gift certificates and NWOSU goodies.

Two winners will be given tickets to the OKC Thunder/ LA Clippers basketball game, a gas card and gift certificate to BRiX Restaurant.

“Most everything was donated by people in the community and local business,” said event organizer Suzie Wheelock.

“People can purchase tickets from any United Fund board member, Central National Bank of Enid, Central National Bank of Alva, First American Bank or at the next two Woodward High School home football games,” Wheelock said.

Raffle ticket sales will continue until the drawing, which will be held Oct. 21 as part of the K-101 morning radio show.

“United Fund President Bill Fanning and Chairman Mickey Flynn will be live on the air announcing the winners and calling them,” Wheelock said.

The United Fund of Woodward raises funds that are distributed to local non-profit organizations based on their service to the community in health, safety, education and charity. Wheelock said that raffle tickets can be purchased at many of these agencies.
