Two people taken to hospital

Woodward, Okla. — Two people were taken to the Woodward Regional hospital by ambulance with stab wounds after some kind of an altercation in the 1800 block of 4th Street in Woodward Friday night.

The call came into the dispatch center around 9:40 p.m. with officers requesting EMS to respond. Information on the condition of the people taken to the hospital was unavailable late Friday.

Woodward police detained one person at the scene but additional information was still unavailable. Woodward detectives were on scene as well.

Other responding agencies included the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, Woodward County Sheriff and Woodawrd Fire Department as well as EMS.

An investigation is under way into the incident.

(AP) — Spotlights bore down on massive piles of shredded cinder block, insulation and metal as crews worked through the night early Tuesday lifting bricks and parts of collapsed walls where a monstrous tornado barreled through the Oklahoma City suburbs, demolishing an elementary school and reducing homes to piles of splintered wood. At least 51 people were killed, including at least 20 children, and those numbers were expected to climb, officials said.
